How to unsubscribe from Netflix in 2023?

Netflix is ultimately not for you. After testing the VOD service, you simply want to unsubscribe. For that reason, it is not very complicated. We explain the maneuver just below.

If Netflix offers several thousand series, movies, and documentaries, you may have had enough of the service and want to unsubscribe. Whether you want to do it from your computer or your smartphone, the procedure is quite simple. We explain how to do it right here.

How to unsubscribe from Netflix

There are several reasons why you might want to unsubscribe from the streaming platform. First of all, the Netflix catalog may have disappointed you, despite its many series, films, and documentaries. It is also possible that you have just decided to take advantage of the free month offered by the VOD service. During this period, you have binge watched the best series from the Netflix catalog, such as Squid Game, Stranger Things, The Witcher, or Dark. Or did you prefer to join Amazon Prime Video to watch The Last of Us, the excellent adaptation of the acclaimed video games from Naughty Dog.

Or the appeal of Disney+ has seduced you, and more particularly that of season 3 of The Mandalorian, which has just arrived on the platform on March 1, 2023. In addition, we must not forget that another major competitor has been present on the market for a year: Apple+, Apple's streaming platform, with its excellent series such as The Morning Show and Severance.

There is another point that may make you say goodbye to Netflix: the end of account sharing. And yes, since May 24, 2023, account sharing is officially over in France. With Netflix's new policy, users can no longer share their account with characters who do not live in the same household. To do so, you have to pay a substantial supplement, up to €5.99 per month. What gives me a great desire to say Ciao to Netflix.

Finally, and this is perhaps the main reason why some subscribers are currently fleeing the service: Netflix prices have increased considerably since the service was born. In 2021, we went from €7.99 to €8.99/month for the essential subscription, from €11.99 to €13.99/month for the standard subscription, and from €15.99 to €17.99/month for the premium subscription. To compensate for this price increase, Netflix has been offering an Essential package with ads for €5.99/month since November 3, 2022.
